Long-time TextPad user here. I removed 4.6.2 from Windows 2000 Add/Remove Programs for a fresh start before installing 4.7.0 version. When clicking on the program in Start > Programs, a "the configuration registry key could not be written" error message appeared. Uninstall/reinstall gave same results.
I also noticed TextPad did not appear in C:\Program Files. I'm fairly IT-aware. Any answers would be appreciated.

By "TextPad did not appear in C:\Program Files", do you mean that it does not have an installation folder there? If so, do a search for textpad.exe, to find out where you did install it. Then, double click textpad.exe and use Configure/Preferences/General to create a new entry on your Programs menu.
