Just a *small* bug

Cannot open very, very large files, like over 300MB. I get a disk full error even though I have plenty of disk space.

I'm thinking this must be an OS issue. Cannot open very large files in Windows 98SE. Here are the test results of 3 systems on which I've tried opening a 400MB file:

Code: Select all

Opens? OS Memory Free HD Space
----------------------------------------
Yes WinXP 512MB 33G
No Win98SE 512MB 60G
Yes Win95OSR2 192MB 3.4G
Test File (Don't worry, it's zipped to less than 2K!)

You need to have enough disk space on the disk where the swap file is located...

Which size is your swap file allowed to grow to?

Forgot, I had this drive partitioned, only 10G free space on my swap file partition! Fully defragged too.

Virtual memory settings: min 512M, no max.

Also, tried on another Win98SE system, 256MB RAM, 1.3G free HD and it opened. I don't know, maybe something with my system. Not a big deal as I rarely need to open files that big and I'm replacing this box soon.
