can the utf-8 signature be disabled in 4.6.2?

Textpad was modified to write out the UTF-8 signature to all files stored in UTF-8 format with 4.6. This interferes with my use because I need the utf-8 files without the signature mark. Is there any way to stop the utf-8 signature begin written out by Textpad?
