Getting Java auto exit

Hi there wonderful person who is taking the time to read this!
I am very new to TextPad and I am wondering:
when I compile and run my program. The program runs through fine without any problems, but at the end Textpad has an pause function "Please press any key to continue" and when I press any key it refuses to exit out of the program. How can I turn this off?????
At the end of the program I would like to be able to press any key and inturn exit the program and back to the source code screen.
I hope you can help me out, because it gets a little annoying after a while.
