I'm using TextPad 4.5 with Visual SourceSafe (VSS) on Win2k Pro. I have set things up in VSS so that when I double-click on a .java archive it will execute the View command, which will retrieve the latest revision of a file into the VSS temp directory as read-only and then open the file in TextPad. All .java files should be opened as read-only, but for some reason when some java files are opened in TextPad I get the message "Read-only attribute cleared for x.java" where x.java is the file I'm trying to view. Any idea why this is happening and how to stop this behavior?
