COMPILER PROB!

Okay I just d/l'ed the 4.6 version. With a diskette I pulled up .java files into the window. When I go to Tools to compile it, there is no compiler there! I went and added on a user "compiler" but the message I'm getting is:

Bad command or file name
Tool completed successfully

So I know it isn't a problem with the file itself otherwise there'd be an error msg along with the first line. BUT I also know that it DID compile the data successfully. Can anyone tell me the 'official' line command to put when adding a compiler in the Tools Preferences box?

Also I can't seem to be able to run the application once it is compiled. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There should be some default setting, if you set up the tools to compile and run java programs.

You probably want to read my question (and answer ;-) ) in the Java Forum (posted on "Date: 02-06-03 18:34".

Hope that helped
