Getting rid of Paste as HTML

I see that some people are having problems getting the Paste as HTML to work. I have the opposite problem because it works exactly as advertised for me.. My problem is that I HATE it and want to get rid of it as the default. I can imagine this being useful in some circumstances but NOT as the DEFAULT action.

Is there some preference setting that I am missing that will get rid of this as the default paste option in an HTML (or ASP in my case) document?

Thanks,
Rich

I've redefined the keyboard: edit / prefs / keyboard / edit / EditPasteLines, then hit CTRL-V (should be displayed), accept redefinition and: worked.

Select EditPaste to reset CTRL-V (if you forgot)

Looks like that worked. Thank you very much.

Thanks Uwe!
I think this so-called feature would be better called as a bug... :-)

I think the "paste as HTML" is very useful, but maybe should not be the default action. I would not want to get rid of it, but it might help if it was accessible through the menu or hotkey, not the default.

Please note that you can not always redefine the keys, keyboards and mice with copy/paste buttons can not be reset.

I also would like a "save as html" for code to save a whole file as html with code highlighted. Right now, you need to make a new HTML file first, then highlight the whole code file and go through the copy process.

Redefining Ctrl-V as EditPasteLines has at least two disadvantages:

- Ctrl-V into Textpad (without any document open) does not work any longer.
- Pasting via keyboard and pasting via context menu or normal menu behave differently
