Hello - I am running Textpad on a 2000 desktop version. I have some files that are located on a server that is running Windows 2000 server edition. Textpad is working fine on files that are running NT server and Novell but when I try and open files on the 2000 server Textpad freezes. I even installed textpad on the server itself. It installs fine and opens, but when I attempt to open a file it freezes. Does anyone have any experience with this problem?

I haven't actually purchased textpad yet, for this very reason. I keep checking updates to see if it is fixed. It has a lot of problems opening files from our Network. Not sure about the network config, although I think it is a Win2k Network ... at home, when I've tried a demo download, it opens files on my local, set up LAN/Router set up just fine.
But at work, any network file, just freezes up ... no joy.

Hey, think I just found something ... this seems to have maybe fixed the problem ...

I'll keep trying. Maybe I can buy Textpad after all.
Although, they should really fix that problem because ideally you don't want Textpad to "ignore" other changes to your files ...

I've been using Textpad for years with bot NT4.0 SP6 and now Win2kServer with SP3 and I haven't had any problems opening files on the server either directly or from a work station. The work stations have, over the years moved from Win95 through WinXP hitting every OS version along the way.
