I've heard good things about EditPlus. How does it compare with TextPad?

It's not dead and abandoned like textpad. That's one good thing.

I've just downloaded it, and looked at it. It looks like it can do a bit less than TextPad in some areas, and can do a bit more in others, but than TextPad in total can do most. Many parts of the GUI looks like TextPad was the inspiration!
However I think that EditPlus is noticeable faster than TextPad, and it's still in development. In a year or so it looks like it will be able to beat TextPad as TextPad is now in all areas.
We may have a TextPad killer. Why didn't I find it first - I've been downloading a ton of editors, and pretty much all of them sucked or cost big $$$
