printing in color

Have HP PSC500. Can I get the output to print in color?

Configure/Preferences/Document Classes/Default/Printing and check "In color"

Does that work for you? I also could not get my HP to print color.
It does grayscale (a laser) and other applications are able to print color images on that which come out in the correct shades, but not TextPad.
