Does anybody know if Helios are still developing TextPad or they have stoped it?

It seems they stopped development... There was supposed to be an update in august and there is any kind of news here.

Wow, this sucks. Between notetabpro, editplus, jedit, and several others, I picked textpad, and was prepared to pay for it, when I find out it's dead.

What's the point for paying for something that is no longer supported nor updated. And they havn't even mentioned it on this site.

Pitiful.

I'm not sure I see the problem. If you've checked out all of those text editors and TextPad is the best in your view why not register? There are only a few ways that Helios can tell whether there is sufficient demand for future versions of the application and the main one is the level of registrations. Helios is a business and that revenue is the only way to fund those future versions.

While there has been a lot of debate here about whether there will be a future update no-one has ever said the product is DEAD. I feel that, from the level of support I have received in the past from Helios, if you had a real need for support that it would be there. Remember, this is a fairly mature product now - most problems can be dealt with in these forums.

Cheers,

Steve

It *is* being updated, just not at the pace you or I prefer.

Have faith. Let go. Schedule an extra appointment with your therapist for a few weeks. Call your mom. Volunteer your time with less fortunates. Drink a glass of milk, make yourself a sandwich.

See this thread

So unless something's gone pear-shaped in the last 2 months or so, they're still developing it, and the patch mentioned for the end of August has slipped (which is hardly rare in software development!).

There _is_ a new release imminent.

I can't say any more :-)
