Hi,

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

MISSING THE COMPILING, RUNNING APPLETS, AND RUNNING
APPLICATIONS

I'm taking Java this semester. I'm a brand new user to textpad. I have downloaded and installed the evaluation copy of textpad (4.5.0 English/American & British) from www.textpad.com to my labtop, but when I open textpad, the program is MISSING THE COMPILING, RUNNING APPLETS, AND RUNNING APPLICATIONS features in the "tool button". Did I download edthe program incorrectly or do I also have to download some other program along with textpad to get those features? Please let me know. Thank you very much for your help.

In Textpad help, under the contents tab, goto section
How To... -> Use with Other Applications -> Java Development Kit.


This section describes how to set up the options you want.

Just wondering what makes you think any of those tools were ever there?

Will someone please tell me where is the missing feature that makes toast? And where are the Butter and Jam add-ins?????

Umm....

Robbage, if you have a JDK installed properly at the time you install textpad, these tools are added during install.

Anhthy, of course you need to have a JDK installed to use these tools. Stephen already told you where to find information oh how to setup Textpad to use the JDK.

Ah I see! Since I have no idea what JDK is, I'll just shut up now
