OK TO CREATE message with spaces in path

I have an annoying problem that seems to crop up when double-clicking an associated .HTM file. If the path that the file resides in contains spaces (i.e. c:\home\spaced out\version1\take one\index.htm) in the folder names then Textpad will prompt me with the with a dialogue box for every space that says for instance "OK to create "c:\home\spaced out"?, followed by "OK to create "c:\home\spaced out\version1\take"? etc. and the end result is that the file does not open in the editor.
If I drag and drop the file from the path with spaces to Textpad it opens fine. If I Click FILE and OPEN and navigate to the file, it opens fine.
It is great that I have the options that work but 90% of my daily tasks require that I be navigating folders and opening files and the easiest way to do this I find is to simply double-click on the file and have it open in the editor. NOTE - if the path contains no spaces then double-clicking the file opens it in Textpad with no problems.
Any assistance in resolving this annoyance would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Richard
