I'm trying to create a Macro that will use a regular expression in the Find In Files dialog box, I want to check a subdirectory on another drive after doing an install of some web pages. When I go to record the macro and then pause it to select the find in files I can't get the recorder to catch anything I type in the dialog box. All I see as a valid selection when the recorder is on is the find selection under search, is this something unsupported? Has anyone done it and can give me a hint? Or do I have a setting wrong?

It is not supported in macros.

Under "Recordable Commands"
it says (among other things):
All commands on the Search menu, except for Find in Files.
