Do we have to use Installshield??

Does anyone else besides me think that for all it's power, this installer (Installshield) is a grande pile de merde?
TextPad used to use Wise, which was indeed wise enough not to be so invasive and lumbering, and not to put heaps of crytic gubbins in awkward places, the accidental interference of which could render an OS fit to die.
If anyone wants to lobby for a return of the older, neater installer, please feel free to expand this thread...
