plug ins?

is there a posibility to write plug in modules for TP? If so where can i find details of this. Mainly looking at adding some calls to winip.dll for simple ftp tasks.
Have you checked out the possibilities of using tools?
Look under Help->Help Topics->Content->How to...->Customize Settings->How to Customize the Tools Menu
