Does TextPad have any sort of Beta program?

Yes, if you look at the acknowledgments in TextPad help you'll see some of the testers.

I asked myself the same question when the current release was 1.29, and Keith sent me all the betas from release 2.0 to now.

Ask to the technical support, and when they'll need new testers they'll look at the list... Of course you'll have to be active, make suggestions and be good at bug hunting.

I can tell you that only once a beta release (4.0 beta 2 I think) destroyed a file on a network resource, and Keith sent me a fresh build after less than 12 hours with the correction to try.

So, are you beta testing version 5.0?

If so, what enhancments can we look forward to?

I think there would be an explosion of forum postings about version 5, if it were, in fact, beta testing.

So my guess is that it's not ready. Oh, woe is me... And the rest of us, I guess...

Keith and Heidi-Marie are nortoriously hush-hush about future releases, so who knows if it's next week or next year...or the year after that...or sometime before 2006...

No betas are open yet.

Keith never told anything about new releases. He just asked me "I've got a new beta to try out, do you want me to tell you where to find it?". I just answered "yes" and the mail flood started...

In release 4 I found several features I asked for, so I'm confident that the next release will have something from me as well.

The beta phase for version 4 was about 6 months long, so I guess we'll have to wait for 5...
