How can I specify to view line numbers whenever I open a Perl program but not when opening all other documents?
While I'm on the subject of editting programs, I expect, shortly, to start using TextPad to write/edit/execute Python programs. Python is very indentation sensitive: it uses indentation to identify blocks of code for loops, if's, etc. So if I find it necessary to quote some Python code in this forum, how do I post a message in this forum without having all multiple spaces reduced to one space?
Thanks, and Season's Greetings, all!

Re: Classy line numbers
Sorry, Roy, but you can not specify to view line numbers when opening Perl programs only. I will add this to our enhancement list and hopefully it will be included in a future version of TextPad.
You can save your Perl documents as a workspace (File menu) and the workspace will then remember the settings for each individual file saved in it. If you save the file with visible lines in the workspace then the next time you open the workspace that file will open with visible lines showing.
Merry Christmas
