Tools-Explorer does not open in working directory

One of the coolest features of Textpad 3 & 4 was that Alt-F3 (Tools - > Explorer) used to open Window Explorer in the current documents directory.
Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be working for me anymore.
It USED to, but now it's not, and I can find no option to configure it to work. I am running Windows 2000 Professional (I think, maybe, that this was all working before I upgraded)
Any ideas?
cheers,
Paul Smith
