When I try to install 9.9.3, I get to the very end, sas installation ended prematurely, and get the following error:

Error opening file:
C:\ProgramData\regid.1995-09.com.textpad\regid.1995-09.com.textpad_TextPad.swidtag.

I've not seen that one before. Are you installing for all users, or just yourself?

Try finding that file in File Explorer. If it exists, right click it, select Properties and check if it's read-only. If it is, remove that attribute.

If it, or its containing folder does not exist, you probably don't have write access to C:\ProgramData. In that case, right click TextPad's installer and choose "Run as Administrator".
