Just upgrading from an old version of Textpad (5.x) and notice that there are now two concurrent versions being maintained that run on Windows 10 (and 11) 64-bit.
To help me decide which is the one to install can anyone outline the primary differences between v8 and v9 - is it just the theme and Spell checker approaches? Is there a reason to choose one over the other?
Many thanks.

Re: Which version to use: 8 or 9?
What all the release notes don't tell (but the downloads page does): Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 (and similar) are not supported with TextPad 9 anymore - Windows 10 is the minimum. Likewise only TextPad 8 still has a 32 bit version. The whole GUI is now a third party one, which comes with its own advantages (like dark theme and, I suppose, full zooming and/or DPI awareness), but also disadvantages (missing a couple of details from Windows' native GUI, especially with dialog windows, but in the settings you're free to use native dialog windows again).

Ok thanks.
As there are no more responses I intend to go with v8 - I just hope that this continues to be supported!
