Why am I NOT being notified when replies to my posts are made?

I have "Notify me when a reply is posted" ticked.

The reason is because my Profile contained my OLD email address.

I just submitted my NEW email address which my Profile now displays.

Hopefully, I will now get notifications when replies are made to my posts.

My new email address did NOT get a notification AFTER I replied to my post

We're all relieved.

So far I don't know how a feature could work to find out when an email address becomes "old", so it remains to its owner to remember where it should/must be changed.

I use KeePass not only to keep track of all the different accounts I have throughout the internet and real life (including their credentials), but also which email address I used there for what. That software has helped me for 12+ years very very much and still does so!
