Since I usually have a large number of files open, I use the 'Document Selector' as opposed to the 'Document Tabs'.
Would it possible to add a 'Close File' option to each item? Similar to how the tabs have that option.
It would be be a little more convenient than the current 'right click' option.

Does it really happen this often you have to close a document that isn't displayed? It's even not possible per tabs either, as only the current one displays the close button.
I fear if the document selector is changed then current features like selecting multiple entries per mouse rectangle might be gone (and that's something quite handy to close/print multiple but not all documents at once).

(Left-)click the item to select it.
Right-Click the item to open context menu, then choose Close Document(s)
(if the item is not selected, a Right-Click on it will deselect all other selected items, select the clicked item, and open the context menu)

No, that's why I said 'Similar to how the tabs have that option'
>(Left-)click the item to select it.

Exactly. As I had noted. Not required for tabs.

If you click on the active document in the Selector, its entry in the Selector gets input focus, and you can close it by hitting the Del key. If you select multiple entries, Del will close all of them.
