Visible Paragraph symbol Automatically ON

Since upgrading back in 7.x, when I open TextPad the Hidden Paragraph symbol is OFF. I know I can turn in ON w/ ^I ... it used to come on auto every time I opened a document. please share the magic to keep it and all invisible symbols Visible w/o needing to ^I please
