sorting in macros

I'm trying to create a Textpad 7.6.4 macro that sorts the content among other things, but the macro always stops running at that point. Is there a known issue with this?
At first, I thought it was because the sort was at the end of the macro and it lost the last step, but I added another sort earlier in the macro and it stopped running there as well.
I've tried including the sort from the toolbar icon and the menu with the same result.
