Pin filename to recent files list?

I'm a happy user of version 5.3.1, but I would upgrade if the current version enables Windows 10's feature of adding and pinning filenames to the list of recently opened files at the bottom of the File menu. Does it?

That's contradictive: if it's a system wide feature then every application would have it and you wouldn't need to ask. Are you sure you're not talking about a specific Office version (unbound to the Windows version)?

TextPad 8.1.2 still has "only" the recently opened filelist, without "pinning" (whatever that would mean, but I assume something which way back in the past used to be named "bookmarks").

"Pinning filenames to the list of recently opened files at the bottom of the File menu" means that the file names will remain in that list even if they have not recently been opened and other documents have. In Windows 10, Word and Excel provide that feature. I was asking whether the most recent version of Textpad does or doesn't.

Your response would seem to mean that it doesn't, but since you say you don't know what "pinning" means, now that I've explained it, I still need an answer to my question.

Thanks, so you clarified yourself it is a feature of an Office version, not a Windows version. And as such does not apply to all programs.

To rephrase my words: no, such a feature is not present. So far TextPad never tried to imitate parts of Office.

And I still don't know why you don't just ask for a feature like bookmarks (to not only remember filenames but maybe even the position in there) - to me "pinning" sounds like an old forgotten idea with a new word and less good than it was known in the past.

Thanks for the information. As for the rest of it, I know what I want, I know how it works, and if the current version of TextPad doesn't provide it, I'll happily stay with version 5.3.1. As I said.
