I've noticed since 8.1.2, syntax highlighting for numbers fails if the number appears at the very end of a line.

Do you encounter this with any syntax highlighting, or just with specific ones?

For me, it only appears to be Numbers items whose syntax highlighting fails at the end of a line. Comments, Keywords, Brackets, Characters: all of these syntax-highlight correctly at the end of a line.

No, I meant with any definition file - you haven't mentioned a specific one. Different file types, different syntax definitions.
