Spell Correcting

Hi guys,
Sorry, your spell corrector is not so great.
Here's a better algorithm: the most common typos are to have a letter wrong at one position, to drop a letter at one position, to add a superfluous letter at one position, or to exchange two adjacent letters.
So you try each one of these at each position, check if it's a word, and if it is put that on your list.
Your current corrector is helpless if the first letter is wrong, and comes up with some truly original alternative suggestions.
