Search works on single words, so finding anything about 'Document Selector' has been laborious, and unsuccessful.

Some accidental keystroke(s) switched the Document Selector from a vertical pane on the left of the document pane to a horizontal pane above the document panel.

I have had no success with tracking down the preference or shortcut or tool to revert the pane from horizontal back to vertical.

Bamboozled, and hoping someone can clue me in on how to get back to a vertical pane on the left.

grab the title bar of the document selector, and drag it to the left edge of the main window. Some boxes with little triangles will appear.
Drop the title bar on the box near the left edge so it will be attached to the left edge.
