Reload last workspace at startup doesn't work

Hi
I just discovered workspaces and it's pretty useful feature (although autosave workspaces would make it even better). However if I check this option below, it doesn't seem to do anything, no matter if I load textpad by itself or a text file associated with textpad. I can save a workspace just fine and load it so they seem to be working in themselves.
Configure -> Preferences... -> General
[x] Reload last workspace at startup
Any ideas how to get this feature working?
