I tried to install Textpad 7.2 over 5.4.2. It didn't pick up the license from 5 and there was no context entry.

What does install in the old Textpad directory mean? Point it to "Textpad 5" in "Program Files"?

I uninstalled it and reinstalled 5 and have most of the same problems. No context menu, The only way to open a .txt file is from Textpad.

Any ideas?

I had problems like this also but TP 7 was installed in a different folder. First I uninstalled 5, but still had issues so I uninstalled 7 then reinstalled it and there were still issues. My solution was to uninstall 7 and then clear the registry of left over references to 5.

Clearing the registry did it. Thanks for the help
