No. At least not on my Win7 64-bit system.

Are you opening files from a network resource or local disc?

Win7 64 bit here with TP 7.1.0

From a network resource, I tried:
100MB file, opened in 1:45
10MB file, opened in 0:12
1MB file, opened in 0:02

I also tried a 400MB file, and it took several minutes. However, that's just not cricket.

No Just local files. It has nothing to do with file location or size. Seems like explorer is waiting on something....

Send to works fine, double-clicking works as well for the same file (I have texpad substituting notepad) but textpad context manu hangs for a minute or two before opening any file. Even opening it again (while still open in TP) still hangs for a minute :-(

My thoughts now run to ChkDisk, DeFrag, and Malware checks.
