I am currently using Textpad 5.4.2 on fully updated Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

I want to update to the current version of Textpad (7.0.9), but I want to do it carefully so I don't loose any preference settings and customizations. Should I update to Textpad v 6.2.2 then to v 7.0.9, or do I need to add any other intermediate updates?

Also, are there any particular "issues" I'd expect to encounter with TP 7? By that I mean things that worked in TP 5.4.2 but not (or significantly differently) in TP 7. I use Regex heavily in TP so I already expect there will be some hair-pulling while becoming familiar with the new Regex in TP 7.

When upgrading from TextPad 5 to 7, we recommend installing version 6 prior to installing version 7.

I too am a heavy RE user. Some initial confusion, but I overcame it rather quickly with the assistance of REEKIs here.
