USB001 file created when printing using the quick print btn

when I first start Textpad and use the quick print icon Textpad does NOT send it to the printer. Instead, it creates a file named USB001.

After I use the long way to print (file print etc) the quick print button works correctly.

If I shut down Textpad and restart it it repeats the above (odd) behavior.

I have used this program for decades and never had even ONE issue with it. I absolutely love it. I even use it for all of my HTML editing. But, this problem has got me lookin 4 answers.

UPDATE:

I just noticed that when I use the quick print button TP sends it to USB001. When I use the long way TP sends it to USB003. After I have printed the long way TP then continually sends it USB003. ALL of this is consistent even after reboots.

2nd UPDATE

TP 7.07 does the same thing for me.
