I have TextPad 5.4.2 on Windows 7.

I want to upgrade to TP 7, and I would really like to retain my settings. Can I upgrade directly from TP 5 to TP 7, or do I first need to upgrade from TP 5 to TP 6, and then from TP 6 to TP 7?

In order to retain your settings, you will need to install TextPad six prior to installing version 7.

Since the settings did not transfer when I went from 5 to 7, I uninstalled 7, then uinstalled 6. I copied the sample folder from 5 to 6. Everythign was good. Then I waited the several years it takes for it to let you download again, and downloaded 7. I copied the sample forlder again.

But when I open 7, my settign are not there - the window format and most especially my file types.
