Textpad 6.2.2 Paste function

Since undating to v6.2.2 I'm unable to paste into or within a Textpad document --- I am able to copy from within a text document and paste elsewhere as with renaming files. In the past, the upgrades have saved my settings, but this doesn't seem to be the case this time. I've checked the Configuration/Preferences, but nothing jumps out at me. I did an uninstall/install of the current version, but the problem persists.
Any help/ideas will be appreciated.

Same for me. I am using Windows 8 -- if that makes a difference.

Obvious question to start with but are the documents set to Read only?

No, the text files are not "read only".

Please try renaming the XML files (ConfigState.xml, GUIState.xml), one at a time, to see if that solves the problem. Exit from TextPad before renaming the file.
In windows 7 it's stored here:
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Helios\TextPad\6.0.
I hope this helps.

This did not work. I renamed each one separately and ran Textpad each time. Then I deleted both of the files and tried again. Paste still does not work but
what is interesting is that "paste" is not dimmed in the edit menu... like there is something to paste but it won't let you.

This appears to be a problem for only a very small minority of people, so we need to try and find some common link between them.
What language version of TextPad is being used?
What language is the Operating System?
Is there some other software running that could be hogging the clipboard?
If you open the Clip Library and select the Clipboard History, does an entry appear when you copy some text. If so, does double clicking the entry insert it into the document?

Textpad: 6.2.2
OS: Windows 7 64Bit
Language of TextPad: English
OS Language: English
No other software running that may be using the clipboard
There is nothing in the Clip Library
After more testing I discovered that it NEVER works if Internet Explorer is running but when I shut down IE, it starts to work "sometimes". I started and stopped IE many times and afterward TextPad worked some of the time, then not at all. After a reboot, TextPad worked fine until I started IE. Then the behaviour started all over again. This happened on both the 32 and 64 bit IE9 9.0.8112.16421. Not sure if anything else triggers these symptons or why this behavior screws up TextPad.

I'm running Textpad on an XP system and have been for years --- problem started with v6.2.2.
English language
No other programs using/hogging the clipboard.
It doesn't seem to matter if IE is/isn't running. I can't copy/paste from within a newly created Textpad document.

I reinstalled 6.1.3 and paste works fine. I will stay with this version until Helios can figure out was is going on.

When Paste stops working for you, do the Insert/Paste as Lines or Insert/Paste as Block commands work?
Can you paste into the Incremental Finder?

It does NOT work for any of the scenarios you questioned. I have a Win 7 32Bit virtual machine and it works fine whether IE is running or not. I don't have a 64bit virtual machine to test on.

Went back to 6.1.3 --- paste function is working fine again.
