Textpad slow startup from context menu

In the last week, I suddenly started having problems with Textpad starting up when I click Textpad in the context menu. When it does startup (after about 30-40 seconds), it starts with a blank window (ie the file I clicked on isn't showing). If I click the file again, and select Textpad, after about 30 seconds, it will show in the already open textpad app. I know this is caused by some application blocking DDE messages, but does anybody know how I can identify which app?

The only possible culprits, as far as recent installs on my computer are concerned, are an update to my Radeon video drivers and the Catalyst Control Centre, and recent updates from Microsoft.

I tried upgrading from Textpad 5 to Textpad 6, but no change.
