When starting with Textpad I would like that it opens the last folder I have used, in 99,9% of the cases I need that folder, but Textpad opens a folder I have never used with Textpad, it's just another one I've placed also on desktop as the folder I want..

Unfortunately there's no option to start TextPad in the last folder that was used, but you can change the initial folder by clicking Configure > Preferences > Folders and changing the value for Startup.

You might also want to enable Working folder follows active document under Configure > Preferences > General.

combine it with
- using a workspace (File/workspace/Save as..)
- Configure/preferences/general/[x] Reload last workspace at startup

and you might get what you want
