If I have set my default working folder to C:\TextPad, so that saving and opening default there, is there a way I can start up Textpad and change the working folder on the command-line for just that instance of Textpad?

I don't think so. All the command line parameters are listed in the help under Reference Information > Command Line Parameters. The following post asked a similar question: http://forums.textpad.com/viewtopic.php?t=11927

wouldn't it be cool to have the option to store the default opening folder in the workspace ? => different projects => different 'root' folders
