Option not to back up empty (0 character) files

I'd like to see an option not to create a bak file when the file starts off at zero bytes. Since Windows lets users create new files from the explorer menu, and they start off empty, the backup file is not needed in that case, at least for some users.

While I'm on the subject, there's a typo on the backup option in preferences. It should say "back up files before saving changes." (i.e. the verb form, not the adjective/noun form "backup.")

Hmm, let me guess, are you also the sort of person who insists that the data are backed up? :)
