You haven't given us much to go on. What have you tried?

Here are some things you can check:
  1. Click Configure > Preferences.
  2. Under Document Classes > Java, check that the file extensions you're using are listed under Files in class Java. By default, *.JAV and *.JAVA are included.
  3. Under Document Classes > Java > Colors, check that the colours are set up for each item to your liking.
  4. Under Document Classes > Java > Syntax, check that Enable syntax highlighting is selected and that Syntax definition file set to java.syn.

thanx for the quick reply , i tried what u just said and even downloaded a few other .syn files which apparently works but also dont , reinstalled the program , tried older versions , even made a complete custom one but only got the background color to change for some odd reason
