Infer EditCopyLine if Ctrl+C is pushed with nothing selected

I would like to have the same kind of copy/paste line functionality as in Eclipse. That is -- if something is selected than Ctrl+C will copy that text. If nothing is selected - then Ctrl+C in that case will copy that line.
This is the same as EditCopyLine and EditCutLine in Preferences->Keyboard->Edit. However it would be nice to not have to assign them separate keys and let them default if Ctrl+C or Ctrl+X are pushed with nothing selected (inferring that to perform the operation on the line).
