Hi,

I am having a bit of a problem with Textpad and I need your support. I have searched for my answer but do not seem to see any specific prior post so I am posting a new one now.

My issue I believe is simple.

I open a file in Textpad and I want to make a simple line item change then save the file again. I believe when I first installed this program, I did not have the following issue that I have now.

First, when I open files, they open in Read Only versions....I un-check the read only and make my change then click save...then the Save As box pops up and wants me to create a new save than just overwrite the current file like it used to (I believe).

I have the "Overwrite original files directly, when saving changes" box checked. And I have the Open locked files read-only un-checked.

This does not seem to help.

Any ideas anyone?

Sounds as if the files you try to change are read-only in the file system.

What happens if you try to change these files with the windows editor?

Not exactly sure of what you mean.

This didn't use to work like that, but does now.

How do I use the Windows editor?

Hey MudGuard!

I did go look in the filesystem, opened the properties and I did see that it was Read Only...so I unchecked that box and made my change and then saved and it saved...

Weird.

Ok the files I use are .bpm and they open fine in the editor of course...if this works, it works...great!
