Use workspace directory as root in Explorer

Post by ajmoraal »

The Explorer view is often slow because it contains all (network)drives by default.
It would be great if the root in the Explorer view could (optionally) be set to the Workspace directory. Or a new separate view called Workspace view.

I remember finding the explorer pane to be a be a bit of pain in the past for the reasons you mention. As a result I never use it.

Now, even on a heavily networked workstation, it's usable. It's not exactly snappy but certainly not impossible to use.

Are you using the latest version?
Running TextPad 5.4 on Windows XP SP3 and on OS X 10.7 under VMWare or Crossover.

Thanks, yes I'm using the latest 5.4.2.

With being slow I actually meant:
- not being snappy indeed, but also
- being cumbersome as in my workspace directory being to deep down the tree, making not TP slow, but the process of finding/navigating to files.
