Splitting big file

I get a "Disk Full" message when I try to open a 2 GB text file.
Is there a way to split the file into smaller files?

Not from within TextPad, but you can use a separate utility like
HJSplit or
Chainsaw, among others.

My company's security software stopped my download of HJSplit because it smelled a trojan inside the package. So I downloaded Chainsaw instead.
Just passing my warning to others here who may be interested in these products.
