search/replace in sub/sub/sub folders

(I posted this in REGULAR EXPRESSIONS in error, this is not an intentional Duplicate post - it belongs here in WILDEDIT part of the forum.)

I have found that the new version seems to be unable search extensive directory systems to find files and make string replacements.

With the prior version this was never an issue.

Today I was doing a 'literal' search/replace, checked the sub box. It returned 10 replacements, when there should have been more than 400.

It's not my syntax, or set up. I am a veteran user of this tool and know how to do this stuff.

as a test I pointed to a half dozen directories one level down, but one level up from where the files exist and the search/replace worked perfectly. So, sub/sub/sub - not working.... sub/sub - working.... odd?
