Directory Contents Vanished SOLVED ???

Hello,

The below problem was 'solved'. I found the files buried in another directory. Also, the empty directory buried in a different directory.

I was not dragging and dropping during any of this.

I just had a very disconcerting thing happen using TextPad.

Working with a Workspace I opened one file of a directory and was working on it with only two other files in the workspace.

I then opened Photoshop. Searched for an image. Closed Photoshop. Opened my Opera Browser, found a suitable image. Copied the image to the clipboard. Pasted it into Photoshop, doctored it, saved it, Opened a tool called Image Mapper from within TextPad. Mapped the image. and inserted it into the file and tried to save it. Since the file was already in existance it was strange to me that I got the 'Save As' dialog box. Then discovered that the contents (hundreds of files) was completely missing!

Can anyone shed light on this ... and maybe tell me where these files might be recovered?

I have a backup, but unfortunately a great deal of work will be lost backing up.

Using W2K Sp4

EDIT: I was looking in other directories and generally looking around to see if I had moved the files accidentally. Then Poof! the Directory vanished as well.
