I followed the FAQ and selected MS Mincho as my Font. I have the regional language bar configured to allow Japanese. I can enter the characters in any other input field (including Textpad) but after I hit confirm the text, textpad replaces the characters with question marks.

どぞ　becomes ??

What am I doing wrong?

In
Configure | Preferences | Document Classes | <Class> | Font | Script
or
View | Document Properties | Font | Script
select Japanese.

It shows both English and Japanese characters now.
