Bookmarks or Favorites

Browsers allow you to bookmark pages, and manage them with folders of bookmarks. This is very convenient as we all know. It would be very convenient to do the same in TextPad.

I have over a 100 files simultaneously open in TexPad. I don't want to close them because I have no way of bookmarking them to get back to them later. If I close them I would have to try to remember which directories they are in, and they are all over my hard-drive and multiple servers. I can't move them to neat locations, as they are currently organized, but in a way different to how I think about them, and scattered in dozens of places.

TextPad currently shows the last 16 files closed in the file menu. This is nowhere near enough, but more importantly does not let me organize them in any way, into projects, or categories or groups.

Please provide file favorites functionality. With the ability to place them in folders. And basic add, move, remove functions. (Some people would ask for sub-folders as well, but personally one level would be fine.)

Look into the use of workspaces.

File>Workspace>Open ~

Here you can save workspaces to any desired location.
The last X workspaces opened is listed.

I find it convenient to have a special "TextPad Open" directory for all my workspaces. The default is to locate the workspace where the top open file is located at the time of Save As Workspace. This gives you a way to organize your workspaces in your own way.

I agree that a favorites window would be very useful. A place that you can add favourite files, workspaces and folders. It could be dockable on the left side with the clip library and explorer etc.
