Cyrillic Letters

Post by ShaunUK »

Often I want to use textpad to edit Cyrillic letters, but I cannot do this as it will not allow me. It shows Cyrillics as question marks. Notepad allows me edit Cyrillics, please make textpad be able to do the same. I then can stop using notepad all together :)

Hello,

I have solved a similar problem this way:

Install a monospace font (I assume you have already done this) that has all the characters you want.

Go to: Configure>New Document Class>

Give your new document class a name: cyrl
Next
Specify a new class member: *.cyrl
Next
Specify the syntax highlighting preferences/file
Next

Specify the font to be used for this Document Class: Configure>Preferences>Document Class>cyrl>font>YOUR FONT

Not a great solution, but you can edit your files this way.

Alternatively, and more simply, if you can find a font that has all the characters from all the languages you use (I could not, hence the above routine), simply change the font to be used for common Document Classes (*.txt, *.htm. ...) to that font. I believe there is a Unicode version of Courier out there.
Thank you, and
Best Wishes,

Thank you Mike. No, I have not installed a monospaced font. Do you know where I can find a good one to download please?
